L'Âme-de-Fonds Company

L'Âme-de-Fonds Company was created in 2013 after the L'Âme-de-Fonds Dance Festival organised in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Simon Halbedo with the association Le Chambart, Switzerland. The company gathers international artists (dancers, musiciens, light designers, costume designers, and scenographs) who work with Instant Composition as an utter performing art form. The produced pieces are devoid of any kind of predefined scores or structures; they emerge out of each particular performing situation, within the common presence of the audience and the performers. In addition to its performing activity, L'Âme-de-Fonds Company spreads its artistic approach through the regular teaching of workshops where the participants are invited to immerse themselves into the training process of the company.

Workshops and Performances, 2-5 January 2025, Bern

L'Âme-de-Fonds company met in Bern for a 4-day residency, during the first days of 2025. The artists of the company offered three 2.5-hour workshops open to the public and curated two evenings and one morning with series of improvised public performances.

- 4 January 2025, 19:15 - 21:00, 6 short pieces with L'Âme-de-Fonds artists and guest artists Simone Marty, Susanne Mueller Nelson, Andreas Schmutz (music), Dafni Stefanou and Simon Wenger.

- 5 January 2025, 11:15 - 12:30, 4 short pieces with L'Âme-de-Fonds artists and guest artist Jacques Bouduban (cello) followed by a closing Brunch event until 13:00 (Tee, Coffee and Zopf will be available; bring your own favorite brunch ingredients for sharing).
